How do I pay for a Box Advert?

All payments are made using PayPal on a Secure Socket Layer (SSL). We never store or recieve any of your credit or debit card payment details - this is all processed by PayPal. We simply receive confirmation that your payment has been processed.

If you would prefer to pay by cheque, please contact us stating the box number you would like, so that we can reserve it for you.

How Many Box Adverts can I open on LakeDistrict.org?

As long as the box advert is in a relevant category and/or location you many open as many Box Adverts that are available.

I run a Hotel in Ambleside, which pages am I permitted to advertise on?

You can advertise your Hotel in Ambleside on the HOME PAGE, and/or on the Location Page for AMBLESIDE, and/or on the Category Page for HOTEL, and/or on the Category & Location page for AMBLESIDE HOTEL.

When I buy a Box Advert how do I modify it, and can I upload an image?
When you purchase a Box Advert, your login details will be sent to you by email. You will then be able to Login to your box advert using the Advertiser Login link. You will then have the options to (a) Update your Box Advert details (b) Update your contact details and (c) Upload a box Advert Image.

For how long may I use a Box Advert?

When you buy your Box Advert you can choose to either subscribe monthly OR pay for 13, 26, 39 or 52 weeks. You can use your box advert for as long as it has been paid for. We recommend that you subscribe so that your Box Advert space is always paid for.

I have subscribed to a Box Advert how easy is it to cancel?

When you subscribe to a Box Advert you can cancel at any time by logging into Paypal and selecting the option to cancel the subsciption. You just pay for a month at a time, and can cancel whenever you wish.

I have updated my Box Advert Details and Image, when will they appear on LakeDistrict.org?

Once you have updated your Box advert details or uploaded an image, our Editorial Team will aim to confirm them within 1 to 36 hours.

What type of Image can upload to my Box Advert?

You may load JPG or JPEG images only. They should be ideally 200 pixels wide by 150 pixels high. Larger Images will be resized when uploaded to 200x150 pixels. Try and keep the file size of your image below 1 Mb - larger images may timeout dependent upon your connection.

I have uploaded an image to my Box Advert and it looks sort of squashed, what has happened?

You have uploaded an image that is a non-standard size. An image with an aspect ratio of 4:3 will appear in correct proportions when uploaded. To be sure that your Box Advert image appears correctly we recommend that your image is one of the following sizes (a) 200 pixels wide x 150 pixels high OR (b) 400 pixels wide x 300 pixels high OR (c) 600 pixels wide x 450 pixels high.
